Medical Acupuncture

Medical Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles into key blocks of the body to bring about relief from pain. Nerve pathways can be reinstated and muscle spasms can soften; such a big response to the micro trauma created by the finest of needles. Medical acupuncture is an adaptation of the Chinese method, only using modern, up-to-date knowledge of the muscular system and understanding of Myofascial trigger points.

Most clients prefer this technique to manipulative therapy, so don’t be put off by the idea of needles. Of course there can be mild discomfort, but mostly, it is the idea of the therapy that is worse than its actual application. Like we always say ‘if a needle is too uncomfortable, we will take it out’.

We mainly use medical acupuncture alongside our sports therapy/remedial therapy treatments. It is a brilliant aid to speed up recovery from an injury or easing pain.
